Paula has counseled me in a way that allowed me to come to realizations in myself rather than things just always being pointed out to me. I began to learn that I can depend on my own skills to overcome obstacles. I came to Paula very broken; I lacked understanding, confidence and coping skills. Paula began to incorporate different therapeutic options I could try such as yoga and meditation as well as CBT. She never pressured me to committing to them but simply allowed them to be an option I could try. I chose at different times to learn about both. This led to a more effective therapy.
Between talk therapy and yoga, I am learning how to truly accept myself, how to handle situations properly, and what it means to have balance. For the first time in my life I feel that I am well on the road to who I want to be.
